The Birth of Dj Stall Rock; it was the rise of two “love them or hate them” genres that 1977 is remembered for. Disco acts such as the Bee Gees, Chic, and Andy Gibb began to rule the airwaves while the critics raved about punk bands such as the Ramones and the Sex Pistols.
I’ve been very fortunate to grow up at a time where music was making a turning point. Living in Southern California I was at the forefront of Hip Hop, 80’s Freestyle, R&B and Dance Club music. I knew growing up I always wanted to do something related to music. I’ve always loved how music can control how you feel at the moment. Either it be sad or happy music is always there. It wasn’t until my 8th grade year that I decided I wanted to be a DJ. At that time I started studying different types of music genres and styles. I couldn’t afford turntables at the time so I was limited to dual tape decks that my dad had. I started making my own mixed tapes with songs I felt would blend well together and keep the family dancing at BBQ’s and birthday parties. After High School I started working and saving my money to buy the Dj’s dream; two turntables and a mixer.
I had my tables set up in my room where I could practice every chance I got. It wasn’t until the summer of 2004 that I realized I could make some money performing my newly learned skills for a crowd. I had a friend ask me to Dj a local house party. At that party I was able to showcase my talents to a car show promoter who wanted me to play at a couple car shows. (West Coast Nationals, Spring Splash, SEMA).
Today, I have become one of the Inland Empires hottest mixers as I continue to make a name for myself. I have had the pleasure of performing at numerous events and venues locally; Club Stingers, Club Cougar, Charlie Jewels, Morongo Casino, San Manuel Casino, The Mission Inn, Lounge 33, Rose Bowl, USC Football Team Parties to name a few.
My eclectic set include everything from Hip-Hop, Pop, House/Electro, Rock, Disco, Soul and Funk, Reggae and R&B. On the turntables nothing is excluded from the mix, and this diversity and creativity has been what has continued to make me so popular amongst avid club goers and promoters.
